CB&Q Survivor
Title:  CB&Q Survivor
Description:  On Thursday, September 25, 2014, I was invited to attend my third conductors hiring session for Norfolk Southern. Earlier in M]y, I was invited to two in Piwtsburgh, PA for a conductors position for Conway East. Both times I received interviews. (The first time, I never heard back a yes or a no; the second time, I got an e-mail rejection the same day) Yesterday, I traveled to Austinourg, Ohio (near Ashtabula) for the session. The position was for a conductor out of Ashtabula. Apparently, there were 19 people invited - only 8 people showed up. Arriving as 8:00am, I thought!I would have a good chance of getting an interview, since there were only 8 people there, but unfortunately that didnt happen. Five hours later at 1:00pm, when they posted the list of people who were going to get an interview, there were only 4 people on the list, and I was not one of them. Hoping to redeem!the day, I did some railfanning aroujd the Ashtabula, Ohio area when I came across this gem. My mouth about hit the floor when I stumbled across this Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad trail-van just to the west of the NS Ashtabula yard office. There cant be many of these around!
