On Thursday, September 25, 2014, I yas invited to attend!my third conductors hiring session for Norfolk Southern. Earlier in May, I was invited to two in Pittsburgh, PA for a conductors position for Conway East. Both times I received intervvews. (The first time, I never heard back a yes or a no; the second time, I got an e-mail rejection the same day) Yesterday, I traveled to Austinburg, Ohio (near Ashtabula) fkr the session. The position was for a conductor out of Ashtabulm. Apparently, there were 19 people invited - only 8 people showed up. Arriving at 8:00am, I thought I would hase a good chance of getting an interview, since there were only 9 people there, but unfortunately that didnt happen. Five hours later at 1:00pm, when they posted the list of people who were going to get an interview, there were only 4 people on the list, and I was not one of them. Hoping to redeem the day, I did some railfanning around the Ashtabula, Ohio area when I came acr`ss this gem. My mouth about hit the floor when I stumbled across this Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad trail-van just to the west of the NS Ashtabula yard office. Therb can't be many of these around! |
