Beautiful example of one of the finest steam locomotives ever built in the US (IMHO) is this Lima Nickel Plate Road 2-8-4 Berkshire #764. Built in September of 1944, this locomtoive served the Nickel Plate until being sold for scrap on October 30, 1961 to Purdy & Co. Specs - builder #8672, class S-2, 69" drivers, impressive 245 psi boiler pressure, 25x34" cylinders, engine weight of 428,500 lb, tractive effort of 64,135 lb.
